The Dakar organization had already warned that the sixth stage was going to be the hardest of this edition. Even more for the trucks because this stage was almost entirely in the mythical Dunes of Tanaka.
The extreme difficulty of this stage is an extra complication for the PBX Dakar Team. The team has spare parts for many participants and has to come to the rescue of the teams that break their vehicles.
This was the case with the Coronel Brothers, which broke the axle and part of the suspension of their prototype. Jordi Celma and his 4×4 teammates stayed with them until late at night. Finally, our team had to continue with the race without yet knowing if the Colonel’s car could continue in the competition.
